About Georate

Georate checks a web page the way AI search engines see it and gives it a score from 0 to 100, with the fixes that matter most. It is free to use and does not require an account.

Why this matters

More people now ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Google's AI Overviews for answers before they visit a website. Those engines only cite pages they can crawl, read without running JavaScript, and trust. Generative engine optimization (GEO) is the work of making a site meet those conditions. Traditional SEO still matters, but it doesn't cover this.

How the score is built

Each score comes from more than 50 checks in eight categories: AI crawler access, indexability, rendering without JavaScript, content structure, structured data, entity and trust signals, freshness, and metadata. The rules are based on public documentation from OpenAI, Perplexity, Anthropic, Google and Microsoft, and the full list of checks and weights is on the methodology page. Every check shows the evidence it found, so you can verify each result yourself.

What we store

For each check we save the URL, the time, the score and the short excerpts from the page that the result is based on. We do not keep a copy of the full page. Reports are stored so they can be shared by link. The privacy policy explains how long data is kept and how to have a report removed. Pages are fetched by GeorateBot.

Independence

Georate is not affiliated with OpenAI, Perplexity, Anthropic, Google or Microsoft. The checks are rules we maintain and publish, and the ruleset version is shown on every report.
